NPD offers back to school safety tips

NORWICH – As students and parents prepare to begin a new school year, the Norwich Police Department offered safety tips.

Authorities said, “Motorists should allow for more time getting to work because of the extra pedestrians and school buses making frequent stops.”

Additionally, it is imperative for students to look in all directions prior to crossing any street, police said. Students (and parents) should only cross at intersections.

The Norwich Police urge all to obey traffic signals, signs and school crossing guards as it will be hectic not only in the beginning of the school year, but year-round.
